The shuttle bus will continue to take delegates from the Holiday Inn Esplanade until 1830 when dinner will commence on Cornucopia lawns, in front of the museum and overlooking the beach.
Dinner will include a 3 course meal, beverages and entertainment. Flights home to the eastern seaboard tend to happen in the early hours of the morning. Coming to the dinner allows time for those travelling home late Friday night or early Saturday morning to enjoy the dinner and make a relaxed dash to the airport. A shuttle bus service will begin from 2200 to take delegates back to the hotel.
CLIMATE AND DRESS
Darwin has a tropical climate and in September the humidity is just returning. Temperatures will vary from mid 20’s of a night to low 30’s C of a day time. The dress is very casual and the aim for your stay and the conference should be comfort. Keep it light. Jackets and ties for men can stay at home. With many buildings air-conditioned, including the conference venue, a light top, longer sleeves or shoulder wrap is sometimes called for. Increasing & maintaining hydration is another important consideration for those from the southern states.
CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION POINTS
GPs and primary care doctors will be eligible for RACGP ( Royal Australian College of General Practitioners) and ACRRM ( Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine) continuing medical education points.
